Volunteer Counsellor
This role involves providing a confidential, one to one counselling service for people within the Tees Valley region working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, relationships, stress, anger, low self-esteem or confidence.
Administration/Reception Volunteer
This role involves assisting with the general reception service at Mind's offices. Tasks will include answering the telephone, greeting visitors and answering basic queries about Mind's services. There will also be administrative tasks such as mailing, photocopying, typing letters, writing and posting cheques etc.
Administration Volunteer with North East Together
This role involves working alongside the Involvement Worker and the Officer Manager. It will involve attending a monthly meeting for the regional service user and carer network to take the minutes and to reimburse travel expenses with petty cash.
Coffee Bar Volunteer
This role involves serving drinks and snacks in the coffee bar at Living Life, Lothian Road
Social Support Volunteer
This role involves spending social time with people who use the Living Life service and encouraging them to become involved in the social activities that we offer.
Listening Support Volunteer
This role involves providing confidential, one to one support to adult residents of Middlesbrough experiencing a wide range of mental health problems and or emotional distress.
Volunteer Appropriate Adult
Volunteer Appropriate Adults will support people in custody who have varying levels of mental health needs and act as their ‘appropriate adult’ whilst being interviewed by police officers.
Criminal Justice Service - Volunteer Counsellor
Volunteer Counsellors will provide a one-to-one counselling service to offenders with varying levels of mental health needs in Holme House & Kirklevington Prisons as well as in the community.
Court Support Volunteer
Court Support Volunteers will provide one-to-one support for people who are experiencing mental ill-health and/or learning difficulties who are attending court. Volunteers will help prepare clients for court, attend court and provide mentoring support post court for a period of 6 months.
Prison Mentoring Service
These roles involve providing mentoring support to people experiencing mental health problems who are leaving prison. Volunteers will help people readjust to life outside the prison with the aim of reducing the risk of reoffending.
Nature Walk Leaders
This role would involve leading walks in urban and green spaces on our Out and About Ecominds Project. As well as the leading the walks in a safe way the leader would help promote health and well-being and a greater understanding of the environment in which we live. Training to lead the walks will be arranged if needed.
Outreach Support Volunteer
This role involves working alongside the Mental Health Outreach and Development Officer to provide a service to vulnerable residents of Middlesbrough who are experiencing mental health problems but who are not engaging with mental health services.
