The Lets Do It Project is committed to supporting and improving mental wellbeing to young males aged between 14 and 20 through peer led activities.
Just as with our physical health, there are times when we can struggle with our thoughts and feelings. Our mind otherwise known as mental health can be affected by all sorts of things – stress, exams, relationship break-ups, problems at home or work, the death of someone close to you, bullying. And sometimes, it is not clear why a problem has started – it just has!
We recognise that it isn’t always easy to talk about how we are feeling or when we are struggling. If you are worried, you don't need to struggle alone and in silence. We are here to help.
The Lets Do It project will work with you to see what you enjoy doing and provide activities to do this, with people your own age in Middlesbrough and Stockton.
Our support will provide you with an opportunity to meet people your own age who are similar to you, in a safe, friendly and non-judgemental environment. Whilst learning new things and taking part in fun activities that are run for you, by you. This means you'll be able to decide what activities we do and you can also receive support from your peers in a non-clinical setting.
Our aim is to find ways to get you back into enjoying life, while reducing loneliness and improving your mental wellbeing. We'll also help you to access appropriate services.
The Lets Do It project is funded by Comic Relief.
Who is this service for?
The Lets Do It project is aimed at young males aged between 14 and 20 who class themselves as a Care Leaver or who are from the Black Asian Minority and Ethnic community.
What happens next?
Once you have got in touch, Jeanna will work with you to see what hobbies you have and what you enjoy doing. You'll then be able to access the activities and meet new people. You can request what activities you'd like to do and we can even help you access the right support services.
