Volunteers' Week - A Focus On Our Let's Do It Service
By Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind
Our mental health can be affected by all sorts of things, stress, exams, relationship break-ups, problems at home or work or the death of someone close to us.
Through our Lets Do It project we work with young males aged between 14 and 20 who class themselves as a Care Leaver or who are from the Black Asian Minority and Ethnic community. Supported by a team of volunteers we identify what they enjoy doing and find activities they can join in Middlesbrough and Stockton.
With the help of our volunteers we find ways to get them back into enjoying life, while reducing loneliness and improving their mental wellbeing.
Jeanna Kibbler, the project coordinator says: "The Let's Do It project makes such a valuable difference to the lives of so many young males in Teesside and our volunteers play a big part in achieving this. I'd like to thank them all for their continued support and selflessness in giving to others."
